One of SberTech’s flagship products has won the CNews Awards. The Platform V Pangolin database management system received the “DBMS of the Year for the Corporate segment” award. The award ceremony took place on November 7 at the annual event “CNews Forum 2024: Information Technologies of Tomorrow”. 

Platform V Pangolin is a relational database that is based on PostgreSQL and contains a number of important improvements that allow the solution to be used on a corporate scale. The product has proven its effectiveness in a number of the largest companies in Russia. The SberTech solution allowed the migration of the most loaded Sber systems without loss of reliability and performance. As part of the import substitution program, Beac has transferred many business processes to its DBMS – today it is already used in the architecture of 740 automated systems. Tens of thousands of Platform V Pangolin installations are successfully operated as part of services and applications of various levels of scale and criticality.

The initial focus on large clients made Platform V Pangolin the optimal choice for large-scale projects with large amounts of structured data. Significant performance improvements to the DBMS guarantee fast processing of large amounts of data and support for highly loaded systems.

The ability to create global indexes (including unique ones) for partitioned tables is one of the important improvements in the product. The functionality is especially relevant if the company is faced with the task of migrating from highly loaded foreign databases or scaling existing solutions.

The solution is certified according to the 4th level of trust of the FSTEC of Russia and has important improvements in the field of information security, which allows the use of Platform V Pangolin in critical information infrastructure facilities. The solution is also included in the Russian Software Registry and is fully suitable for import substitution tasks.
